Description

Freeze-dried apples are fresh apples that have had nearly 100% of their moisture removed through a specialized vacuum-freezing process, resulting in a light, crunchy, and shelf-stable snack. Unlike traditional dried apples, which are chewy and leathery, freeze-dried apples maintain their original shape, color, and intense natural flavor.

When packaging freeze-dried fruits and candies, fluid ounces measure volume, not weight, which often confuses people because freeze-drying removes up to 90% of a food's water content. This means an identical deli container size will hold drastically different net weights depending on how much the food expands or contracts during the freeze-drying process.

Deli containers are universally measured in fluid ounces (volumetric space). Because freeze-dried foods are highly porous and light, their actual scale weight is a fraction of the container’s volume.

o Estimated Net Weight: 1.5 to 2.5 ounces of candy; 0.5 to 1 ounce of fruit.
