Freeze-dried blueberries are whole fresh blueberries that have undergone a vacuum-freezing process to remove 98% of their water content, transforming them into a crunchy, intensely flavorful, and shelf-stable snack. Unlike chewy raisins or traditional dried berries, they shatter with a crisp texture when bitten and maintain their round, natural shape.

This means an identical deli container size will hold drastically different net weights depending on how much the food expands or contracts during the freeze-drying process.

Deli containers are universally measured in fluid ounces (volumetric space). Because freeze-dried foods are highly porous and light, their actual scale weight is a fraction of the container’s volume.
