Description
How They Are Made
Happy Farmers are placed on trays inside a freeze-dryer using a specialized warming profile. Hard candy contains a tiny, trapped micro-amount of moisture. Under a deep vacuum, the machine warms the sugar just enough to make it pliable while forcing that moisture to vaporize. This causes the candy to balloon dramatically, growing into a porous, colorful puff up to four times its original size before cooling into a solid, hollow state.
Flavor and Texture
- Melting Crunch: They completely lose their hard, tooth-cracking texture. Instead, they shatter like a delicate wafer when bitten and immediately dissolve back into a smooth, liquid-like glaze on your tongue.
- Intense Flavor Burst: Because the water is gone, the standard fruit flavors (watermelon, blue raspberry, green apple, cherry, and grape) collapse into a highly concentrated, incredibly punchy sweet-and-sour taste profile.
Why People Love Them
- Safe for Dental Work: Because they shatter easily and melt instantly without being sticky, they are highly popular for people with braces, fillings, or sensitive teeth who normally have to completely avoid hard or chewy candies.
- Intense Sensation: The fast melting action releases all the flavor oils and citric acids all at once, creating a much stronger sensory rush than sucking on a standard hard candy.
